To attain bone health by:

  • maximum attainment of peak bone mass during kid and teen years
  • minmization of the rate of bone loss - during older age, particularly after menopause in women
  • fall prevention is especially important in elderly persons who should get good nutrition and training for muscle strength and balance
  • protecting the bone is a lifetime commitment
  • prevention includes the following meaasures:
    • getting adequate calcium and vitamin D
    • getting regular exercises
    • no smoking and excessive drinking of alcohol
    • preventing falls
    • seeking medical treatment when necessary
